Community Engagement & SPONSORSHIPS
Community relationships are very important to Infigen Energy. We are involved with communities during the planning and development stages of new projects, and then during the life of each renewable energy farm. We are committed to ongoing engagement with all the communities in which we operate through regular communication and a clear flow of information, to ensure that any concerns can be easily raised and then addressed.
Infigen Energy actively supports local communities, schools and sporting organisations through sponsorship and employee participation at events. Last year, Infigen Energy contributed to various local community projects and sponsorships, including: Centacare Family Services, theTarago Agricultural Show, the Bungendore Harvest Festival, the Millicent Agricultural Show, and the Netball Club to build the Angela Fensom Memorial Playground.
It was also the sponsor of the 2010 Weereewa Festival,a bi-annual event held on the shores of Lake George in NSW to celebrate the unique history and ecology of the region; and the 2010 Beachport Festival by the Sea,a bi-annual event held to celebrate the Limestone Coast region of South Australia.
Infigen Energy also funded the upgrade of the Taylors Creek road on the wind farmers' land at the Capital Wind Farm, the purchase of fire truck for the NSW Fire Service and paid to supply power to the NSW Rural Fire Service fire shed. In 2011, Infigen Energy continued to sponsor Bungendore Harvest Festival, Millicent Photographic Art Show and Tarago Show.
In the US, Infigen Energy supports numerous charitable, educational, sporting and volunteering activities every year. In 2011, we sponsored science fairs, athletics and reader groups at Tucumcari Public School, Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools and Texico Municipal School. We also continually support the fantastic work of Portage Volunteer Fire Company, Portage Youth Association, Maryneal Fire Department, Illinois Police Association and Grover Guys and Gals 4H Club. Infigen Energy also donated and took part of events organised for Autism Speaks, Sweetwater Little League and Earth Day.
