Infigen to present in a community and Renewable Energy workshop

4 October 2011

Infigen development team has been invited to present in a Community and Renewable Energy Workshop in Bathurst on 14 October 2011.

The workshop is organised by NSW Renewable Energy Precincts Program in Rahamim Ecological Learning Community, St Joseph’s Mount, 34 Busby Street, at 8.45 am for 9.00 am start till 4.00 pm.

The workshop will also discuss the opportunity to own a “share” of a wind turbine and be a part of a wind energy project.

“This is a chance for landholders and community groups to learn about wind farm development from experts in the industry,” said Grant Christopherson, Regional Coordinator for the Renewable Energy Precincts Program. Among other speakers are Craig Memery from the Alternative Technology Association and Nicky Ison from the Institute for Sustainable Futures.

Local and community ownership of wind projects, ranging from full ownership of small projects to smaller levels of participation in larger projects, can bring significant benefits to the local community and economy.

The community stakeholder group, with Infigen’s support, would be responsible for developing the co-op proposal. It is intended that the stakeholder group would seek regular feedback from the local community.

RSVP is required by 6 October 2011. Contact Grant Christopherson on mobile 0457 594 193 or email to register.

Infigen looks forward to participate in the workshop and engaging with the local community to assess the feasibility of a co-op at the proposed Flyers Creek Wind Farm.
