Men’s Shed community contribution recognised

23 May 2018

Members of the Wellington Men’s Shed will down tools for the day on 24 May 2018, when they visit Bodangora Wind Farm for the second time.

The development represents the first of its kind in renewable energy in the local area, with the construction of the 33 wind turbines going ahead at a rapid rate.

Bodangora Wind Farm project manager Stuart Black said having the group there presents a wonderful opportunity for them to meet with workers on-site and see the progress of the expanding project for themselves.

“We are very much looking forward to hosting the men’s shed representatives,” Mr Black said.

“They are well-known around town for their commitment to helping others, and we are proud to share that ethos.”

Wellington Men’s Shed was one of the recipients of Round 1 of the Community Benefit Fund, which they will use to install another type of renewable energy – stage 1 of a solar panel system.

“The varied activities the Men’s Shed are involved in contributing to the local community and we too are committed to making a difference through positive contributions, and to foster lasting relationships with non-profit organisations,” Mr Black said.

“This shed is an asset to the community and produces great benefits for the local area.”

Infigen Energy has also sponsored the Wellington Boot, Vintage Fair, Wellington Arts and Bodangora Fire Brigade.
