10 April 2015
At approximately 3.30pm on Wednesday, 8 April 2015, a minor electrical fault occurred at a wind turbine at the Capital wind farm. Upon investigation by wind farm technicians, the beginnings of a fire were identified and the rural fire service were notified. The turbine was immediately secured, power isolated and personnel were stationed at key locations on site to escort the fire brigade to the turbine. No staff or the public were in danger at any point, and the issue was contained to an internal cabinet, within the turbine.
The Bungendore and Taylors Creek Rural Fire Service attended the site and promptly extinguished the incident. Infigen is proud to foster a good relationship between the wind farm site management staff and the local rural fire services. We would like to sincerely thank the Bungendore and Taylors Creek RFS crews for their prompt and professional response.
