Updates from our development pipepline
We are actively working on the Capital Two Wind Farm, Capital Solar Farm and other solar projects. Information about these can be found at the Infigen website.
There are no major milestones to announce for our projects this month, but we encourage anyone with specific questions to contact us through the details below, as we are always eager to answer questions about the design, technology and community benefits of these projects.
Capital Renewable Precinct Site News
May was one of the highest production months on record at Capital and Woodlawn with consistently good winds throughout the month. June has also been a good month, with several very high wind days. We currently have a large number of contractors on site assisting with servicing and carrying out some repairs to blades, fixing damage caused by lightning that occurred over the last year or so.
Capital Community Fund
The Capital Community Fund for the twelve months from 1st July 2015 is $45,000. The Capital Community Committee will meet four times a year to review and approve applications to sponsor community projects in Bungendore and Tarago. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the committee should contact email@example.com. Anyone aware of any Community projects is encouraged to apply.
Run with the Wind Community Forum
Run with the Wind 2015 will be held at Woodlawn wind farm on Sunday, 11 October 2015. Infigen and fun run organiser 100% Events held a community forum on Thursday, 7th May in Bungendore to meet interested key members of the local community. We were pleased to see representatives of the Bungendore Community Foundation, Australian Wind Alliance and Boro Mt Fairy RFS, who gave up their time to help us out.
The purpose of the forum was helping us to make this year’s fun run better than it has been in previous years, attracting even more tourists, showcasing local produce and fundraising for the local communities. Aside from lots of ideas for family competitions, including a music stand and focussing this year’s fundraising for social support, the key recommendation was to continue holding community forums in Bungendore and Tarago. That is why we are holding a follow-up meeting in the La Porta Accanto restaurant in Bungendore at 6pm on Thursday, 9th July.
If you are a small business owner and can offer accommodation packages to runners, please get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (02) 8031 9900.
At the time of writing, the Renewable Energy Target bill is moving through parliament. We hope the legislation is changed soon – bipartisan support will return certainty to investors, and get Australia’s clean energy industry moving again.
