First post - An Introduction to the Infigen Blog

Welcome to the Infigen Energy blog – this is a place where we’ll be putting up short posts about community and energy issues, related to renewable technology.

In Australia, we have six operational wind farms, five of which are in the National Electricity Market (NEM).The other is in Western Australia, and is part of the South West Interconnected System (SWIS). We also have 18 wind farms located in the US.

We’ve access to a large database published by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), and from this we perform analytics that provide insight into how the energy market works. We will use this blog to explore the successes and the challenges of the evolution of Australia’s energy system as more renewable technology is deployed.

Infigen Energy also runs a range of community events in or near our wind farms. With regards to these events, our experience has been consistently positive. We hope we can use this blog to acknowledge more frequently the support we receive from the communities that co-exist with our operational wind farms in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.

We’ll moderate comments but anything that’s respectful and well thought-out, we’ll be sure to publish. Many of these issues are complex and divisive, so we’re happy to engage with people who perhaps aren’t fully convinced, or need more information before they make up their mind.

A fair chunk of it will be written by myself, with contributions from other Infigen employees from time to time.

Please don’t hesitate to say hi, and if you think we’ve published something nifty, please share the posts with your friends.

See you soon,
